Morris- Plunk Nuptuals - Apache Wedding Blessing

Last Friday, our youngest son, Kenny married his loooooooong time love, Shannon Morris, aboard the Princess Cruise liner 'Paradise'.   No groom has ever been happier nor any bride lovelier.

The intimate ceremony and reception for closest friends and family was held shipboard before a 3 day opportunity for the families to bond en route between Long Beach, California to Ensenada,  Mexico and back.

From the cake topper- guess the couple figured out the family nick-names for them "Ken and Barbie"

We can gab later about the music, the food, who showed. To a writer, the vase that holds the meaning of the ritual are the words. Shannon and Kenny's vows included the

APACHE WEDDING BLESSING

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.

Now you will feel no cold,

for each of you will be warmth to the other.

Now there will be no loneliness,

for each of you will be companion to the other.

Now you are two persons,

but there is only one life before you.

May beauty surround you both in the

journey ahead and through all the years,

May happiness be your companion and

your days together be good and long upon the earth.

Treat yourselves and each other with respect, and

remind yourselves often of what brought you together.

Give the highest priority to the tenderness,

gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves.

When frustration, difficulties and fear assail your relationship,

as they threaten all relationships at one time or another,

remember to focus on what is right between you,

not only the part which seems wrong.

In this way, you can ride out the storms when

clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives - remembering that

even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there.

And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your

life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight.

Sunrise this morning in Long Beach
om my front row seat, even if no one else does, and even if said only in the quietness of my brain, I end all prayers with in the Name of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

God bless you, our children. Take care of the one you have each chosen.

Until next time, Godspeed and Good Fortune

  1. Lydia,
I am so excited to know all the details and see the photos! What shocked me was that you told me you were on going Celebrity Cruise Lines and I'll be dang there was a photo of Carnival's Paradise! Carnival is my very favorite line and so happy you went with them! WHY did you think Celebrity?
The Paradise used to be a non smoking ship. Last year Daryl took that cruise on Paradise and told me that it was no longer non smoking.(He's not a smoker) No matter what people say, it shoots a business in the behind when they declare "NO SMOKING!" Smokers love to cruise and most of all love to gamble so Carnival found it wasn't good for business to exclude smokers.
OK Enough of that! The one pic of the happy couple was lovely! Loved the sunset at Long Beach! I'll bet you were up bright and early when you docked and were wishing it could have gone on for another week at least!

Hugs and CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple and parents!
    XO Trisha

  2. Celebrity and Carnival both start with "C" ):-

I just wrote a check to the travel agency and put all the paperwork in a blue folder.

The short cruise was the perfect length for a couple so new to cruising we can't tell the difference between Celebrity and Carnival.

I like the mix of smoking/ non-smoking so people can live their lives as they choose. Just because someone makes a different choice than me on this issue, I don't think they should live as lepers.

  6. The Apache Wedding Blessing is beautiful, Lydia, but your heart's silent prayer to our LORD, Jesus, was the most important blessing. ;)
